This soundbar is so bad it has completely soured me a loyal LG fan for 16 years on the brand. The controller doesnt give you the full functionality of the device for that you need a rarely updated and poorly supported app. It frequently disconnects or wont connect to the right device when said device powers on. It sporadically loses connection to WiFi meaning I have to unplug and plug it in to regain access in the app. Im also fairly certain LG tried to sweep this product under the rug with its support being VERY short lived and most traces of it gone from the Internet. I have never had so much trouble with technology and I paid nearly $1000 for this garbage.

This soundbar has been a nightmare. Randomly disconnects and you have to manually unplug and plug back in to reset. The display wont turn off and the volume stopped displaying on the TV and now only shows on the soundbar display. The subwoofer cuts in and out all the time and makes a crackling sound when the bass drops. You cannot manually connect the subwoofer to the soundbar it is Bluetooth only. It is horrible quality and a waste of money. 1/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND

After 30 months sub woofer wont connect. Product support has been unresponsive. There are no local authorized repair shops. LG wont give me a parts list so I cant replace the circuit boards myself. Purchased with 77 OLED TV. Very disappointed. Sorry I recommended the same one to a friend who has same issue.

We originally lived this SoundBar and Subwoofer combo however it stopped working after a year. I tried to seek help and was told there is nothing the my can do since it has been a year. After mor research this is clearly a bug with the PCB board and LG really should fix this for customers at no charge. Very disappointed as we spent a lot of money on this and chose LG thinking we were in good hands.

Subwoofer stopped working after 1 yr
After researching Mega Reviews and Complaints this is a HUGE ISSUE related to firmware and LG is Not doing anything about it.
This should be a Class Action Suit.
Dont Waste Your Money on this. Pay attention to reviews over 1 year old.

Reviewed several brands and decided to purchase this model. It works seamlessly with the OLED LG TV I purchased. Sound quality is really good. Voices are clear. Easy to install and easy to modify sound to fit the content being shown Movie sports etc.

LG did a firmware upgrade and ruined the subwoofer. Will not admit it even though it is all over Reddit. Cant replace the subwoofer unless you buy a new soundbar. Spent 4k on LG TV and soundbars and this how I am treated. They dont care. Buyer beware.

I was happy with the sound for the price and unit was reliable until recently. I thought my subwoofer disconnected from sound bar but it seems my subwoofer just stopped working. It will not pair no indicator / display light and no sound. Makes a strange short whining noise when I power down. Spoke with LG service who was very nice but all they could do is direct me to a repair service. People on line seem to attribute issue to a firm ware update. I have many LG products and this is the first issue Ive had with a product being unusable before a reasonable useful life.

I bought the LG SN9YG in June 2020 not sure when the subwoofer stopped working since I was away from the home for over 7-months. When I returned in May 2022 the subwoofer would not pair. The sub makes a weird noise once connected to power but that is all. I called LG and since the purchase was over a year no replacement was offered. Great sound when the unit worked properly.

In less than two years of ownership of the unit the Subwoofer died. Could not figure out why it wasnt paired with the soundbar. After investigating and doing a quick web search I realized the subwoofer was dead. It made a strange sound when powering down basically unplugged the unit from the wall socket. Seems as if Im not the only one with this same issue - dead subwoofer

As I was researching how to fix a sub-woofer or purchase a replacement I stumbled across reviews with similar issues. My subwoofer has no powerseems completely broke. Just thought I would add my 2 cents so future buyers are aware.

Purchased SN9YG w/bluetooth subwoofer back November 2020....sad to say subwoofer has already failed. Many reviews online indicate known issues with the LG subwoofer SPN8-W....hardware issue with circuit board causing bass function failure. Contacted LG directly.....jumped thru troubleshooting hoops with no result. Final response from LG......take it to local service center have it repaired your cost....to bad so sad......thanks for your business
