I bought this for summer but my apartment's heat pipes froze last night and was I thankful this morning for the "Heat" setting. It warmed up the apartment until my building's repair man showed up.

I have used the heater in the winter and it works great! I love the remote control as well as the easy directions. I can™™t wait to use the A/C this spring. I™™m using this for our living room.

Hi:Built a garage that will function more as a music studio/man cave. Because I wanted to be nice to the neighbors, the garage was built for sound proofing, thus no windows and good insulation. The garage is 460 sf and as a heater, the unit is a little undersized, but it got the room nice and toasty. Very quiet and easy to use. In a couple of weeks, will switch over to A/C and believe the unit will work just fine.

Throughout the summer it was a life saver. I had no trouble with water being dumped on the floor; very little water would drain out after two weeks.

It lasted 14 months, long enough for Frigidaire to say tough luck.I have air conditioners costing half as much still running 5 years later.

I got this unit to replace a 10,000 BTU Hisence portable unit that struggled to keep up in a 500 SF space (with slightly vaulted ceilings). I think this unit keeps it cooler. However, I did not realize that this unit would produce BUCKETS of water every day! The Hiscence barely had a few drops in a reservoir at the end of the season. Unfortunately, there was no indication in the online description for the Frigidaire, or even the manual, that I would have to attach a hose and drain into a bucket (or 2)... and dump daily! I had water all over the floor until I figured it out. The manual mentioned needing a hose and tray/bucket for running in ™dry™™ mode. But I am only running in ™cool™™ mode. So, not sure if something is wrong... but feel people need to know, that this takes daily water maintenance (difficult for me because of disabilities), and other units do not. I had to purchase a huge tray to put underneath, in addition to a hose and bucket, to prevent water damage to my floor!

Having purchased this to keep me cool while exercising in my garage it almost does the job here in central Texas. It is no doubt cooler in my 3-car garage but I found that a good part of that cool air was being used to cool the unit and is blown outside due to the air leaks around 3 garage doors. It is a good unit, blows cool and dehumidifies nicely. In retrospect, a 2 hose setup would have been better.

Doesn't work nearly as good as my old 10k BTU window unit. Have to wipe up a puddle underneath it every hour. Don't waste your money, this product is junk.

Where's the Heat?

I bought this for my workshop, which is 480 sq ft, fully insulated, with a 7 foot ceiling. I let the unit run on Heat setting for 3 full days, and couldn't get the temperature in the room above 60 degrees, when it was 40 degrees outside. I placed a thermometer directly in front of the blower, and it failed to get above 75 degrees. When in Heat mode, you cannot adjust the fan speed, so it stays on Low. Not sure how this could ever bring the room temperature up to the thermostat's maximum of 90 degrees, or even to a comfortable room temperature. It's been too cold out to test the AC, so I can't comment on that.

I live on Miami Beach where the humidity and temperature often stray above 80. My space is a 600 square foot Art Deco loft with 10 foot ceilings. This unit manages to keep this space comfortably cool and dry. It won't put the arctic chill on but it takes down the temp and humidity and hold them steadily to a homey standard. With the wider exhaust hose, slightly tilted vent platform and increased volume of output it does the job with a comforting rush of air. We are currently undergoing massive concrete restoration to our building and I am also comforted in knowing that apart from not being exposed to the elements my unit is also not gathering in all kinds of concrete dust and powder. It breathes your home air and returns it will a chill. I clean the filters regularly to insure that it is breathing well and I don't extend the exhaust hose longer than needed to maintain the functionality. I've never needed to empty the water created by the dehumidifying function of cooling, the water evaporates out of the exhaust hose. The unit costs about 20% more to run than my previous window unit but it also has 2000 more BTU's and I run it constantly. The white noise helps me sleep at night.

I bought this unit to go in a 550 sq. ft. garage, nice and quiet and keeps the garage cool even when I shut it off at night to save electric.

Works great and worth the money. Perfect product. Effective, durable, sustainable, and delivers satisfaction in such weather here in Dubai is almost 55 degrees summer time.So I was wondering if I should drain the water or not ?? I opened already the water for less than a second and the water went out ! Almost a table spoon ... ! What do you recommend me doing ?Thanks a lot

I bought this unit to cool a 250 sq ft room. At first I was disappointed it only goes down to 60 degrees, but I bought it anyway. I can say for sure the most this has cooled my room down to is 72 degrees and it picks up A LOT of moisture. After running it a few times for about 5 hours each I have to drain it. It also uses way more energy than listed if your room is hot and starts to use the advertised energy once the room cools down. The heater function mostly makes you uncomfortable rather than hot. If you pick up a small Vornado heater they actually have much better BTU than what this thing has and use way less energy to do it.Overall, I think I regret buying it, a window unit is much more efficient and powerful.

I bought this a year ago spent 700 bucks because I wanted the best. This unit barely cools my livingroom and i feel totally ripped off. My 20 dollar amazon heater heats a room just as well if not better than this. 700 bucks what a rip off.
